Mangarosa
Mangarosa means, "pink mango" in Portuguese, a lush tropical fruit popular in Brazil. The name is fitting for this little gem of North Beach that adds a distinctive Brazilian twist to the classic Italian Cuisine already popular in the neighborhood. A sexy and warm interior seduces diners to experience the qualities and unique flavors that come from the blending of two cultures and two cuisines. The atmosphere is lively and fun with the upbeat music and great people especially on Thursdays when the "Samba Dancers" spice it up the whole place whit their performance every hour on top the bar and dining floor! The chef has a strong background in Italian cuisine, and the Brazilian owners add their own touches to the menu. Mangarosa has been described as an unusual but great place for steak lovers to come for a top-notch meal where diners finish off the cooking and seasoning of their own "Brazilian Steak Rechaud" at their tables while sipping over the "Caipirinhas" (a typical Brazilian cocktail made of "cachaca" lime & sugar). Other things to try: "Pao de Queijo" (cheese bread), house made gnocchi, polenta soufflé and scallops.
